About monitoring and survey the quality of environment in Lumpini park

This news is talk about monitoring and survey the quality of environment in Lumpini park by looking animals and small organism which living in that area.

Lumpini park is the famous park that located at center of Bangkok, every week have many people come to relax or doing some activities in this park. Therefor, last year had some volunteers and Green World Foundation(GWF) groups came to explore the diversity of living organism at Lumpini Park for checking environment quality.

Because some organisms related with environments. We can refer and predict the quality of environment of area by looking the way of life, the living of organisms, including the species of organisms to know how about this area in the past and present also can management plan of future. This surveys is a survey that very simple and use less moneys to can check the quality of environments.

This survey was divided into 9 categories including
- birds,
- species plants,
- lichens,
- freshwater animals,
- plankton,
- butterfly most and insect,
- mammal,
- reptile,
- amphibian in area.

The results of the survey revealed that have some areas in park have bad quality of both of air and water quality in park because the surveys found some species of lichens that can immune in pollution environment and found some plankton that can living in bad water quality. For this reason, Lumpini park need to recovery the quality to get a clean park for every people.
