Fumigation in Thailand

Pest control practices in Thailand commonly involve fumigation method. It is known to be effective in eliminating pests such as mosquitos, flies, and cockroaches on extensive level.

Recently, it is widely used around the country to tackle with mosquitos that are responsible for transmitting viral disease causing dengue fever in human.



Moreover, the advantage of fumigation lies in the fact that it can reach a wide range of space vertically and horizontally, whether it is an outdoor or indoor space such as the inside of a warehouse with high ceilings.

However, many people tend to avoid the fumes or block their nose and mouth as they walk by, and decelerate their cars when driving past the fumigation due to the fumes/smog clouding their sight. Moreover, this method loses effectiveness when and where there is high wind.

In year 2015, fumigation was conducted in a place with electrical wiring faults, resulting in fire that tragically burned down the facility.

นอกจากนี้ ข้อดีในการพ่นควันเป็นที่รู้กันว่า สามารถเข้าถึงพื้นที่กว้างและแคบ ทั้งแนวตั้ง และแนวนอน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นพื้นที่กลางแจ้งหรือในร่ม เช่นภายในคลังสินค้าที่มีเพดานสูง

แต่ผู้คนส่วนใหญ่มักจะพยายามหลีกเลี่ยงควันและปิดกั้นจมูกและปาก เวลาเดินผ่านพื้นที่ที่มีการพ่นควัน สำหรับรถยนต์ที่ขับผ่าน ก็จะมีการชะลอเนื่องจากหมอกควันที่พัดมาทำให้การมองเห็นถนนยากขึ้น นอกจากนี้ วิธีการนี้จะสูญเสียประสิทธิภาพ เมื่อใดที่มีลมพัดแรง

ในปี 2015 มีการรมควันในสถานที่ที่มีไฟฟ้ารั่ว ซึ่งส่งผลให้เกิดไฟไหม้ และสร้างความเสียหายอย่างมาก
